Welcome to my first blog post! I am very happy to have finally given birth to this project that I have been dreaming about for so long. I have been going through so many incredible experiences in the past years that I was feeling this urge to share my perspective and knowledge on our power to evolve and get healthier by beginning a transformational journey back to our essence, to our primary instincts and to the basics of self-care.
I must confess that I love the convenience of having everything I need just around the corner. I do believe though, that the way we are unconsciously relying on this modern convenience and living our lives today has been pulling us away from our primitive essence and the way our body was designed to naturally operate. This unconscious way of living has been forcing our bodies to operate on a non-stop mode demanding overwork from our organs and systems, leading us to experience imbalances and disorders which then have been shown to contribute to all kinds of chronic diseases we face in today’s world.
This unconsciousness combined with the role that the food industry and the pharmaceutical industry play in our society have been leading us to believe that It is “normal” to live on processed foods, sugary beverages, poor lifestyle choices and then spend the rest of our lives on medication. I’m getting old – they say.
I grew up eating everything I wanted – from sweets and sugary drinks to the delicious meals my grandma used to make. As much as my parents tried their best to offer me healthy foods, I became addicted to sugar and processed foods. I don’t even need to tell you the consequences, do I? Well, I developed all kinds of disorders and allergies and had suffered from certain health conditions my entire life until recently started changing the way I lived.
For the last 6 years, I have been slowly changing my lifestyle and implementing habits that have literally transformed my health and wellbeing. By shifting my mindset, changing my diet, adding movement to my days and managing my stress levels, I experienced incredible improvements in my energy levels, mental state and body, not to say that most of the disorders I had been suffering from my whole life have disappeared.
It was around that time that I had one of the biggest awakenings in my life: I learned that our body has the ability to heal itself if given half a chance. If we support our bodily functions, our organs and systems to do their job, we are halfway through our healing process. Our lifestyle and the food we eat are powerful ways to support our body in this process for us to achieve optimal health, and ever since I have experienced that my own, I have been obsessed with exploring ways in which we can bring greater balance to our health through this holistic perspective.
Our wellbeing is totally impacted by the products we consume, the food we eat, our relationships, our spirituality and everything else that surrounds our lifestyle. Bringing awareness to these aspects is the first step towards a self-journey of healing, better health and happier life. Taking care of our health doesn’t guarantee a life free of disorders but It can definitely bring us a life full of self-love, knowledge, growth and expansion.
Health is the foundation of wellbeing and happiness. Choosing to live a healthy life starts with the realization that self-care is the medicine that both prevents and cures diseases. I hope I can inspire and empower you to make better choices and discover your own path to a healthy life.
Welcome and thank you for being here!
Love, Paula
